Sep-Pak Alumina B Classic cartridges contain a highly active grade of alumina with a basic surface chemistry. The aluminum oxide surface provides an extremely polar surface for analyte retention and has properties of a Lewis acid. This normal phase sorbent is similar in use to silica; however, it is slightly more stable than unfunctionalized silica under high pH conditions. This basic alumina is also low-capacity ion exchanger in aqueous media. Sep-Pak Alumina B Vac cartridges can be used to extract phospholipids, steroids, and catecholamines. Since Sep-Pak Alumina B is unaffected by high-energy radioactivity, these cartridges can be used for radioactive compound isolation. These Classic-style cartridges are designed for use with positive displacement by a Luer-tip syringe and can also attach easily to vacuum-assisted flow devices using a male/male adaptor.

Sep-Pak Amino Propyl (NH2) Plus Light cartridges contain a moderately polar, silica-based bonded phase with weakly basic surface. The sorbent can be used as a polar sorbent with different selectivity for acidic/basic analytes or as a weak anion exchanges in aqueous medium below pH 8. Applications include extraction of phenols and phenolic pigments, petroleum fractionation, saccharides and drugs and metabolites. These cartridges have a distinctive finned outer body and a reduced internal diameter, which results in an interstitial volume about one-third that of the corresponding Plus-style cartridge. This design allows you to elute fractions in a minimal volume to improve recoveries and reduce solvent consumption, a benefit especially for applications where samples are limited or where excessive dilution is a concern.

Florisil is an extremely polar sorbent that is a blend of magnesium oxide and silica gel. This highly active and weakly basic sorbent is used to adsorb low to moderate polarity species from nonaqueous solutions. Florisil is commonly used for pesticide analysis in many AOAC, EPA, and JPMHLW regulated methods for food and environmental samples.

The 1 cc Oasis MCX cartridges contain the Oasis MCX, which is a novel, mixed-mode polymeric sorbent that has been optimized to achieve higher selectivity and sensitivity for extracting basic compounds with cation-exchange groups. Since the Oasis MCX sorbent is water wettable, it maintains its capability for higher retention and excellent recoveries even if the sorbent runs dry, which means there is no need to take extraordinary steps to keep the sorbent beds from drying out during the critical steps prior to sample loading. The 60 µm particle size is recommended when working with viscous samples. These syringe-barrel-type cartridges are designed for use with vacuum manifolds and automated SPE instruments.

Sep-Pak Accell Plus QMA Vac cartridges contain a silica-based, hydrophilic, strong anion-exchanger with large pore size (300Å). The large pore size makes it ideal for isolation of larger molecules such as anionic proteins such as immunoglobulins and enzymes. Other applications include isolation of phenolic compounds and removal of acidic pigments in wine, fruit juices, and food extracts.
